Export Single or Multiple Profiles

Learn how to export app data backup for one or multiple selected profiles in Geergit to a user-specified location.

Overview

The Export Profiles feature allows you to export app data backup for one or multiple selected profiles to a user-specified location. Unlike Backup, Import & Export which exports all app data for a group or individual app, this feature gives you granular control to export backup data for specific profiles you choose.

This is particularly useful when you want to:

  • Backup Specific Profiles — Export app data for only the profiles you select without including data from other profiles
  • Batch Export — Export multiple profiles at once for efficient bulk management
  • Share Profile Data — Transfer specific profiles' app data backups to another device or account
  • Selective Management — Maintain separate backups for different profiles without exporting everything
  • Organize Backups — Keep profile-specific backups organized in designated locations

Prerequisites

  • Alpha membership (required for Profiles features)
  • Root access (required for app data backup and restoration)
  • Backup App Data feature enabled in Geergit settings
  • At least one profile with associated backup data
  • A destination folder for exporting the profile
  • Important: Same Geergit account email to import backup on another device

!WARNING Backup and restore operations require root access. If root is not available, backups cannot be created or restored. Ensure Geergit has proper root permissions in your Xposed Framework settings.

!NOTE Profile backups can only be transferred to another device with the same account email. You cannot transfer backups to a different profile or account on the same or different device. To import a backup on another device, you must log in with the same email account that was used to export the backup.

Managing Exported Profile Backups

Exported Backup Folder Structure

When you export a profile, a dedicated folder is created with the profile's backup data. Do not rename or modify the exported backup folder in any way. Keep the folder structure exactly as it was exported, or Geergit will not be able to detect and import the backup later.

Troubleshooting

Export Not Starting

  • Check Permissions — Ensure Geergit has file permission to write to the destination folder
  • Verify Storage Space — Confirm you have enough free storage for the profile backup
  • Check Backup Data — Ensure the profile has associated backup data (created by enabling Backup App Data feature)

Missing Profile in Export

  • Backup Feature — Enable Backup App Data in Geergit settings for the profile to generate backups
  • Root Access — Ensure Geergit has root access to backup app data
  • Profile Selection — Verify you selected the correct profile before exporting
